The Defiance County Chapter of the American Red Cross has received a grant that will allow us to provide FREE services to family members of:

ACTIVE, RESERVIST AND “LIVING” VETERANS OF All MILITARY BRANCHES.

Military member and family member MUST be from Defiance County.

· FREE School Supplies for children. Must call to chapter to reserve yours.

The Defiance County Chapter of the American Red Cross has received a grant that will allow us to provide FREE services to family members of ACTIVE, RESERVIST AND “LIVING” VETERANS OF All MILITARY BRANCHES. (Military member and family member MUST be from Defiance County).

These FREE Services include:

· School Supplies for children. Must call to chapter to reserve yours.

· Babysitting training for youth 11-15, FA/CPR/AED for the Lay Responders, Professional Rescuer/AED, First Aid and Disaster Preparedness

· Calling cards for family members to call service members stationed overseas or in the United States

· Free webcam to talk to service members (By appointment only)

· ARC Magnets for use in case of emergency military message

· Family Events to be held by the Defiance County Chapter, that would include gifts and prizes

· Informational guide for resources available in and around Defiance County.

Keep in mind the family members must be from Defiance County. Family Members include parents, spouses, children, grandchildren and siblings.

Please call the Defiance American Red Cross at 419-782-0136, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm for any questions you might have. A returnable deposit of $10.00 for all classes is required. Failure to show up for the class without canceling will forfeit return of deposit.

Our organization strives to support Defiance County residents who have become a victim of a disaster, whether it is natural or man-made. We also provide life-saving training courses and safety tips for people to use in emergency situations.

The American Red Cross of Defiance County is directed by The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement. Our funding is raised locally through our strategic partnership with the Defiance County United Way, funds raised by local businesses and individuals, and grants received from various local and national sources.

The American Red Cross strives to attract and involve a diverse and multi-skilled volunteer work force. Our volunteers insure that the American Red Cross continues to provide effective services that are responsive to the changing needs of the American public. Special emphasis is placed on the meaningful involvement of youth and young adults, the development of strong volunteer leaders, and the integration of our 1.2 million national Red Cross volunteers into planning at all levels of the organization. Red Cross paid and volunteer staff work together to deliver on the American Red Cross promise, "We'll be there!"
